With a total area of 22,356km², Meganissi is one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Iptani Islands, but the largest, hence its name, of the Prigiponisia of the Prefecture of Lefkada!
The permanent population amounts to 1040 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in tourism, since Meganisi is a very popular summer destination due to its pristine natural environment and dozens of beautiful beaches.
The three settlements of the island have preserved their traditional character with the stone houses and the picturesque alleys that one is happy to wander through.
The island is connected by ferry to Nydri of Lefkada with frequent daily routes, with an open type ferry. The distance takes about 25 minutes and the ship approaches Spilia port.
