Afternoon stroll in Vathi

Vathi, the smallest settlement of Meganisi, as its name describes, is embraced by a deep bay with fishing boats raked, rocking playfully in the waters of the port.

It is a favorite destination for “peratzada” of the visitors as well as the residents of Meganisi, especially during the afternoon hours.

The professional fishing boats of Meganisi are probably preparing for their evening trip to the Ionian Sea, while the sailboats have returned from their day trip. Children play laughing out loud in the square and the certified playground located there.

The restaurants and other shops have started serving the evening customers, while tourists are taking pictures of I.N. of Agios Bessarios, patron saint of Meganisi.

Large yachts tied up in the marina impress visitors to the area, while the locals are now used to seeing them every summer on their island.
