The Teacher’s House

An 1850 mansion restored with modern aesthetics. It is located in the heart of the settlement in Spartochori Meganisi Lefkada. A beautiful spotless traditional settlement that captivates you at first sight. It is built on an impressive rock directly across from the island of legend – Onassis’ Scorpio, which has now passed into the hands of the Russian tycoon.

Until 10 years ago, Meganisi was not known to many people, which is why today’s thousands of visitors call it the hidden paradise of the Ionian.

The hostel is called “Teacher’s House 1850.” It was built almost two centuries ago, at the end of the 19th century, and for many years it was the reference point of the village. It was the center of social life as all the officials of that period who visited the island were hosted there. The descendants of the teacher Giorgos Politis turned it into a guest house that marries luxury with tradition. Pool – jacuzzi, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, atmospheric outdoor areas, verandas with arbors, with period furniture – unique pieces made by local craftsmen.

Cars are not allowed in the paved streets of the village and you will be served in the parking lot at the entrance of the village, which is only 5 minutes from the guesthouse. If you want to swim in the sea without using your car, Spilia beach is a 15-minute walk away and a very picturesque road with a wonderful view leads you there. You can go to all the other beaches by car and the distances are from 5 to 10 minutes.

The guest house has 2 two-room suites of 50 sq m and one single room of 30 sq m. Each two-room suite sleeps up to 4 people and has a kitchen, TV, air conditioning, wall paintings and all modern amenities.
