Beaches & Children

If you are thinking of visiting Meganisi with children, it would be good to know that there are beaches more friendly to them. The first and best choice is Fanari, because it looks like a natural pool and has the finest pebbles of all the beaches on the island.

Ammoglossa is definitely next for the same reasons, while Elia, Pasumaki and Spilia are also good alternatives.

In Meganisi, many of the beaches are ideal for children.

The beach of Agios Ioannis, although beautiful, is not ideal for small children due to the size of the stone and perhaps sea urchins in some places, while Limonari, due to the fairly large stone, is probably not the best choice.

As for the Karakofolia, perhaps the descent of the rock is a somewhat dangerous challenge for small children, while certainly the passage from one creek to another requires swimming for them (the water on the first pass is above the knee of an average adult, so a small it will get all wet to pass). So if you have small children in your company, it is better to approach Karakofolia by sea.

Game & Children

In Meganisi there are three certified playgrounds ideal for afternoon play. The first of these is located in the central square in Vathi, the second is located a little outside Katomeri on the road to Spartochori, while the third is located in Spartochori.

Also in Katomeri, a little outside the village, there is a 5×5 court as well as a basketball court, where in the afternoons the children of the island gather there and play.
